With a starting price of $45,000, Audi's Q4 e-tron is an affordable alternative to Tesla's Model Y. A cheaper version of Audi's EV is expected to launch this year in the United States. Audi plans to bring more electric vehicles to the market than any other luxury automobile brand in the United States with the Q4 e-tron and Q4 Sportback e-tron. On top of this, the Q4 e-tron is priced less expensively than the existing Q4 e-tron, which currently has a starting price of $65,900.

Audi Q4 e-tron, which goes on sale in 2022, looks quite odd for a crossover electric vehicle. It features a round, bulging hood that looks as though it contains an engine. However, two electric motors are housed inside rather than a loud V8.

The Audi design boasts an "athletic stance" and muscular surfacing, similar to the Mazda MX-30. The interior features recycled materials. Audi also took care to highlight plenty of storage space for water bottles. Additionally, Audi claims the interior of the car is spacious. Audi's Q5 SUV has similar dimensions. And like Tesla's cars, it has a 10.1-inch touch screen, although there will be a lot more buttons on the Audi.

Like most EVs with a battery at the bottom, between the axles, the Q4 e-tron's battery sits at the bottom, lower in the vehicle's center of gravity. Audi says it has a 250-mile range for the Q4 e-tron despite having a small 82kWh battery.

The battery option also comes in a smaller form, a 55-kWh model that's likely meant for the $45,000 starting price. Comparatively, Tesla's Model Y Long Range has a range of 326 miles. Although the Model Y starts at $50,490, it is slightly more expensive.

WLTP testing is used in Europe by Audi to estimate range, which is a more relaxed testing cycle than the testing used in the U.S. EPA testing will likely reduce the range once it has a chance to test the car.

The Audi e-tron is also bringing some toys to its electric vehicles, like the Tesla Model X and Mustang Mach-E. The company showed off a heads-up display that incorporates augmented reality last month.

As of this June, Audi Q4 e-tron will be available in Europe and will spread throughout the world by the end of the year.
